CSSPS deploys more personnel to ease delays at resolution centres

The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) has increased staffing at several resolution centres nationwide in response to concerns over long queues and delays in resolving parents' placement issues, as reported on Joy FM’s Newsnight. Media Relations Officer Hashmin Mohammed disclosed that this decision was prompted by information received about the struggling centres and the resulting lengthy lines of parents seeking help.

The CSSPS coordinator, along with other ministry officials, decided to deploy more personnel in regions that were unable to efficiently address the concerns of complainants in a timely manner.

Mohammed further explained that the placement authorities have implemented a decentralized system to streamline the process, enabling parents to easily report their issues and track the progress of their complaints. The resolution centres operate a 24-hour service, providing parents with tickets to monitor the status of their concerns. However, Mohammed acknowledged that unless the disparity between available vacancies and students' preferred schools is resolved, these challenges will continue to persist.

Currently, thousands of parents have had their concerns addressed, though Mohammed could not provide an immediate figure. He also warned parents against paying money to individuals for faster processing, as allegations of such practices have been reported in the Ashanti Region. The officials in this region have been instructed to take measures to prevent such unauthorized transactions. Mohammed emphasized that parents are not obligated to pay any official or third party for CSSPS placement services.
