CSSPS chaos: Parents allege payments to bypass queues at Kumasi resolution centre

Parents in the Ashanti Region are reporting widespread discontent over the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) this year, as they allege that payments are being demanded to expedite the process at the resolution centre in Kumasi. Eyewitnesses claim that unidentified individuals are charging up to GH¢300 to assist candidates in avoiding lengthy queues, a claim that has fueled tensions at the center.

These parents assert that the practice has introduced confusion and frustration, with some even abandoning the process after enduring hours of waiting. The situation is further exacerbated by reports of individuals in uniform also being granted access to bypass the queues, providing further opportunities for others to allegedly solicit money from desperate parents.

The surge in parents and candidates at the centre on the third day of the placement resolution exercise has outpaced the center's capacity, resulting in a slow resolution process that has left many parents feeling overwhelmed and dissatisfied.
