Apple Watch Ultra 4 announced with no price increase, new features

Apple unveiled its newest rugged wearable, the Apple Watch Ultra 4, at its Surprise and Shine iPhone event on Wednesday. The Ultra 4 is set to launch alongside the Apple Watch Series 12, new AirPods, and the forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models. Notably, the Apple Watch Ultra 4 retains the same price as its predecessor, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 from last year, and features an identical design. However, the watch boasts enhanced performance and a range of new health and fitness capabilities.

Key upgrades for the Apple Watch Ultra 4 include the integration of the S11 chip, alongside a new health sensing system. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 also boasts the new Health app, which introduces features such as Readiness fitness score, a Longevity metric, and more frequent and precise heart-rate measurements. Additionally, the watch features Audio Intelligence with sound recognition and a Live Rewind tool, which transcribes conversations using Siri AI. These features are slated to be released later this year.

The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is priced starting at $799 and is available in three color options: Black titanium, Natural titanium, and a silver Hermès variant. The device is scheduled for release on September 18, with preorders opening today.
