AirPods 5 start at Dh539 in UAE with stronger noise cancellation

Apple has launched the AirPods 5 in the UAE with prices beginning at Dh539. This new model features enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that reportedly reduces up to 50% more external noise than its predecessor, AirPods 4 with ANC. Pre-orders for AirPods 5 commenced on September 12, and they will be available in stores on September 18.

There are two versions of the AirPods 5: a standard version priced at Dh539 and a more expensive model with a Wireless Charging Case for Dh629. The latter version provides extended battery life, on-stem volume controls, and compatibility with various wireless charging options.

The new AirPods 5 incorporate a multiport acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ, delivering improved sound quality across various ear shapes. Additionally, Apple has refined the noise cancellation technology, enabling clearer reproduction of voices and ambient sounds. The Transparency mode has been upgraded to naturally capture surrounding sounds, while Adaptive Audio dynamically switches between these modes based on the user's environment.

An automatic feature called Conversation Awareness adjusts media volume when the user begins speaking to someone nearby.

The higher-priced AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case offer about five hours of playback on a single charge while using ANC, an hour more than the AirPods 4 with ANC. When used with the charging case, the total listening time extends to up to 22 hours, supported by various charging systems including iPhone 18 Pro, which begins at Dh5,099 in the UAE.

The new AirPods 5 also introduce volume swipe controls on the stem for easy adjustment, support for Sound Redesigned across different ear shapes, and personalized Spatial Audio. Users can activate Siri through head gestures, and the earbuds can be used with Live Translation on compatible Apple devices when Apple Intelligence is enabled, provided the feature is supported in the user's language and region.
