Afriyie-Ankrah hails Mercy Ships’ life-saving mission as Global Mercy arrives in Ghana

Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, praised Mercy Ships for its long-standing commitment to healthcare in Ghana. Commending the mission as a model of compassion and service, he highlighted the ship's arrival as both exciting and deeply moving. The relationship between Ghana and Mercy Ships, established in 1991, has seen significant contributions from the vessel, ranging from life-changing surgeries to training programs for local healthcare professionals.

Afriyie-Ankrah lauded the hundreds of international volunteers, including medical experts, who selflessly serve aboard the ship. He emphasized that true leadership is demonstrated through service and urged Ghanaians to recognize the dedication of these individuals and their families. The envoy also praised the cooperation between Mercy Ships and key Ghanaian organizations such as the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service.
