32 pubs in Hyderabad found without valid Fire NOCs

An inspection by the Telangana Fire Services revealed that nearly 40% of the 77 pubs examined in Hyderabad were either operating without valid Fire No Objection Certificates (Fire NOCs) or lacked essential fire safety measures. Consequently, the department issued notices to 32 establishments for non-compliance. The remaining 45 pubs held valid Fire NOCs.

The department has given these 32 pubs a deadline to rectify the deficiencies, warning that legal action will be taken if they fail to comply under the Telangana Fire Service Act. Following the inspections, the department organized a fire safety awareness program for pub owners and managers at the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) in Gachibowli.

Director General of Fire Services Vikram Singh Mann emphasized that fire safety cannot be compromised in public entertainment venues, stressing the importance of preventing accidents, preparing for emergencies, and adhering to regulations to safeguard lives and property. The department plans to continue awareness programs, inspections, and enforcement measures to enhance fire safety standards in public assembly occupancies throughout the state.
