White House takes down anti-immigrant Tetris knockoff

President Trump's administration recently removed an anti-immigrant game called Build the Wall from Arcade.gov, a government website featuring five web-based games. The removal came after accusations of racism and potential legal threats. Build the Wall, a Tetris clone, had gained significant attention for its virulently anti-immigrant messaging.

The game challenged players to "protect the border from the coming horde." Just one day after its launch, Tetris, the creators of the original game, issued a statement distancing themselves from Build the Wall and hinted at potential legal action. The statement read, "To our fans everywhere: we love you, we see you, and we’re grateful to have you in our community."

It also emphasized that the Tetris Company was not involved in the creation of Build the Wall and reiterated their stance on copyright infringement. It remains uncertain whether the Tetris Company took official action against the White House's knockoff puzzle game. However, the threat evidently caused enough concern for the administration to take down the game.
