Vote for Seacoast boys, girls Athletes of the Week for Aug. 31-Sept. 5

The Cellcom Press-Gazette high school athlete of the week voting poll opened last Saturday, September 12th, and continues until 3 p.m. on the same day. It does not require a subscription to cast a vote. Max Goebel from the De Pere football team secured the top spot last week, garnering 3,536 votes. Coming in second was Kiley Dhein, a standout volleyball player from Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran, with 2,241 votes.

This week's nominees include Reese Bandow from Luxemburg-Casco golf, who earned medalist honors by scoring a 42 to aid the Spartans in a triangular victory. Bandow's team not only had five golfers place within the top eight but also finished with a team total of 194, surpassing Little Chute and Oconto Falls. Asher Fontaine from Bay Port football contributed 15 total tackles and 2 sacks in a 46-0 victory over Pulaski, leading the Pirates in total tackles (33), solo tackles (20), and sacks (3).

Urijah Moore from Green Bay West football had an impressive performance as the quarterback, completing 5 of 9 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown, and rushing for 103 yards and 2 scores in a 37-8 win against Green Bay East. Moore maintains an average of 10.5 yards per carry on 23 attempts this season, having scored four times already.

Maxim Skurka of De Pere soccer, the offensive player of the year in the Fox River Classic Conference in 2025, had an outstanding game in a commanding win over Wausau West. The senior midfielder scored three goals and provided three assists in the match and has a total of six goals and 16 points this season. Walker Wozniak from Pulaski soccer was the top scorer with three goals in a 4-1 triumph over Green Bay East and added three more goals in a 7-0 victory over Marshfield. Wozniak was leading the Fox River Classic Conference (FRCC) with seven goals before the week began.
