VCUarts Qatar students and faculty present joint exhibition at Ars Electronica Festival 2026

VCUarts Qatar, a Qatar Foundation partner university, will showcase an exhibition titled Alternative Frequencies at the Ars Electronica Festival 2026 in Linz, Austria, from September 9 to September 13, 2026. Organized by the Gallery at VCUarts Qatar, the exhibition features four experimental projects that explore the connections between visual and sonic systems, physical and digital interaction, biomaterials, and computational design.

The exhibition's title, Alternative Frequencies, alludes to radio broadcasting, where multiple frequencies work together to strengthen and extend a signal's reach. By presenting new forms of interaction and cultural expression, Alternative Frequencies invites audiences to reflect on how meaning, perception, and communication can be translated across media, aligning with the festival's 2026 theme, "Negotiating Humanity."
