US officials threaten retaliation against UK over Israeli settlements sanctions

US officials have publicly warned the UK over its new trade sanctions targeting illegal Israeli settlements. During a recent conversation, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee suggested that Washington could retaliate against Britain in response to these trade measures. This comes after the UK announced its intention to ban goods linked to Israeli settlements.

Florida Republican Congressman Randy Fine has gone even further, claiming that British companies may face restrictions in conducting business within Florida. Fine accused the UK of attempting to promote "Muslim terror" with its trade sanctions. He also stated that the UK's actions were a "vanity project" aimed at supporting what it perceives as Muslim extremism.

The US ambassador accused the British government of "Jew hate" in response to criticisms of Israel's actions in Gaza, specifically regarding comments made by British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, who is Jewish.
