On Tuesday, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee hinted at the possibility of retaliation from the United States against the United Kingdom over newly imposed trade sanctions on illegal Israeli settlements. Nevertheless, concerns have been raised about the potential for increased antisemitic attacks against British Jews, with Labour backbench MP Peter Prinsley warning that opponents of Israel often fail to distinguish between Israeli government policy and the British Jewish community. Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar threatened retaliation against the U.K. if it imposes the sanctions, stating that Israel has "tools" to respond.
