University of Agriculture Faisalabad Raises Fees by Over 50%

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has dramatically increased undergraduate tuition fees for the 2026-27 academic year, with many programs experiencing a jump of over 50% compared to the previous year. The first-semester fee for the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program has risen from Rs. 35,000 in 2025-26 to Rs. 54,000 for 2026-27, marking a 54% increase.

Some other programs have seen even steeper hikes. For instance, the BS Biotechnology program has jumped from Rs. 35,000 per semester in the prior schedule to Rs. 84,000 in the new fee structure. Similarly, the B.Sc. (Hons.) Poultry Sciences, Animal Sciences, and Dairy Sciences programs have seen their first-semester fees rise from Rs.

44,000 to Rs. 65,000. Fees for science and computing majors have also been increased. The BS Physics and BS Chemistry programs now carry a first-semester fee of Rs. 78,000, up from Rs. 55,050. BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science programs have a first-semester fee of Rs.

60,000. The new fee schedule also reveals significantly higher total degree costs. The total fee for B.Sc. Agriculture is now Rs. 432,000, while BS Biotechnology is listed at Rs. 672,000. This substantial fee hike is likely to put extra financial strain on families already grappling with rising education and living expenses. For many middle-class households, the escalating cost of public university education may make it progressively harder to afford undergraduate degrees for their children.
