Tune Talk Appoints Former Selangor Deputy Police Chief As Epik+ Family Safe Brand Ambassador

Tune Talk, a mobile network operator, recently appointed a former Deputy Police Chief of Selangor, Sasikala Devi Subramaniam, as the brand ambassador for its new Epik+ Family Safe mobile plan. The plan, launched in June, incorporates parental controls at the network level, offering a more robust solution compared to traditional app-level restrictions.

Sasikala, who is also a member of Tune Talk's Board of Directors, will utilize her expertise in public safety to support the company's educational campaigns. Her role will involve educating Malaysian parents about the online risks their children may face and providing practical measures to mitigate these threats.

However, this also exposes them to various harmful interactions, including age-inappropriate content, cyberbullying, scams, and other dangerous situations. Sasikala emphasized that "child safety cannot be left to parents alone ... prevention has failed in the enforcement end, and it cannot depend only on action after an incident."

The standout feature of Tune Talk's Epik+ Family Safe mobile plan is the One-Tap Parental Control function, accessible through the Tune Talk app. Parents can set their desired content limits for their children. The app offers three protection levels: high, medium, and low. The high level restricts browsing to kid-friendly websites, even for social media use. The medium level allows broader browsing, still restricting social media. The low level unlocks social media, games, shopping, and other forms of entertainment.
