Transporters Ask Islamabad Police to Stop Using Containers in Politics

Transporters have called on Islamabad Police to release container vehicles immediately, after they were reportedly taken for use in political demonstrations. Muhammad Owais Chaudhry, representing the transporters, denounced the seizure of the vehicles and demanded their swift return to their owners. He emphasized that the transporters have no involvement in political protests or sit-ins, and their vehicles are intended solely for trade and commerce.

Using commercial vehicles for political activities, Chaudhry argued, is unjust and hinders their operations. He also pointed out that keeping the seized vehicles in isolated locations is causing further problems for the owners. Chaudhry urged the government to prevent the use of transporters' vehicles for political purposes in the future.

He further requested a transparent investigation into the alleged seizure of the vehicles and allegations of bribery connected to their release. Chaudhry insisted that all the vehicles currently under police control should be returned to their owners without delay, as the forced confiscation of commercial vehicles by state institutions gives the appearance of government coercion.
