Tinubu working to reduce cost of transportation – Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has revealed that President Bola Tinubu is prioritizing transportation infrastructure to reduce the cost of movement for Nigerian transporters. Speaking during the inauguration of the National Working Committee of the National Structure of Transporters for Tinubu/Shettima 2027 in Abuja, Shettima emphasized that the administration views connectivity as an economic necessity.

Represented by Sen. Ibrahim Hadeija, Shettima stated that President Tinubu understands the struggles faced by transport workers and treats them as an indispensable part of the nation's workforce. Shettima highlighted that transport workers play a vital role in connecting communities and serving as ambassadors of the nation. He stressed that the transportation sector is crucial for economic growth, as it determines the movement of goods, students, and investors across the country.

By saving time, removing bottlenecks, and improving ports, transport workers contribute significantly to national productivity. Shettima acknowledged that the Tinubu administration has been actively working on infrastructure projects such as highways, rail corridors, ports, clean mobility initiatives, and logistics infrastructure to ease the operations of transport workers.

He also recalled welcoming transport workers on June 15 as "patriots" who support the nation's "Renewed Hope Agenda" and democratic process.
