Six hikers safely rescued after going missing during Trans Gerah expedition in Gunung Gerah

Last evening, a search and rescue team managed to safely bring out six hikers who had gone missing during the Trans Gerah expedition in Gunung Gerah, Kelantan. The Gerik district police chief, Supt Abdul Samad Othman, announced that the team retrieved all the individuals from Kem Kulim and arrived at Kampung Lelar at approximately 8:45 pm.

All the rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention at the Pos Kemar Klinik Kesihatan and are reported to be in good health without any injuries, according to the police statement.

The six victims had initially gathered at Kem Kulim before embarking on their journey to Pos Kemar. The rescue operation was supported by 10 mountain guides from Perak and Kelantan. The missing individuals included Wan Ahmad Aslam Wan Zairudin, 39, his wife Siti Zulaiha Norizan, 39, their children Diya Raisha, 13, and Ahmad Raef, 9, as well as experienced mountain guides Shafiee Sidek, 49, and Hazman Mamat, 43.

The trio had been reported missing on August 29 when they failed to exit the forest by the scheduled date of September 3. Family members alerted the police, who initiated the search and rescue mission.
