Six hikers safely rescued after going missing during Trans Gerah expedition in Gunung Gerah

Gerik, September 8 - Six individuals who were part of the Trans Gerah expedition at Gunung Gerah, Kelantan, were successfully rescued last night by the search and rescue team. The Gerik district police chief, Supt Abdul Samad Othman, reported that the rescue team successfully extracted all six hikers from the Kem Kulim area and brought them to Kampung Lelar by 8:45 pm.

According to Supt Abdul Samad, all six victims are currently receiving medical attention at the Pos Kemar Klinik Kesihatan, and they are in good health, with no reported injuries. The six victims had gathered at Kem Kulim before proceeding to Pos Kemar as part of their expedition. The search and rescue operation received assistance from mountain guides from Perak and Kelantan, involving a total of 10 members.

The missing individuals were identified as Wan Ahmad Aslam Wan Zairudin, 39, and his wife Siti Zulaiha Norizan, 39, along with their two children - Diya Raisha, 13, and Ahmad Raef, 9. The family reported their disappearance to the police on Sunday after they failed to exit the forest by their scheduled date of September 3.
