School guard arrested after janitor dies following knife attack

An elderly school janitor named Thaweep Klinboonma, 65, died from stab wounds after an altercation with a school security guard in Pratu Chai Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district, on September 8, 2026. The incident occurred around noon at a school in the area.

Upon arrival, police and rescue workers found Thaweep unconscious near a pavilion near the security guard post, suffering from two stab wounds: one near his left chest and another on his left rib area. He was transported to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital, but sadly succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, identified as Anek, a security guard at the school, initially fled the scene after the stabbing. Police conducted a search and later detained Anek. He is currently being questioned about the incident and the motive behind the attack.

A street vendor who witnessed the events reported that Thaweep had approached Anek shortly before the incident. The two engaged in an argument, which escalated into a physical fight. Thaweep reportedly returned to the school before walking back toward the security post. During a subsequent confrontation near the post, Anek allegedly used a knife to stab Thaweep, causing him to collapse at the pavilion.
