Samsung partners with French AI startup to enhance chip operations

Samsung Electronics has formed an alliance with French AI startup Mistral AI to bolster its semiconductor operations, as announced during a summit in Paris between South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and French President Emmanuel Macron. Through this collaboration, Samsung plans to incorporate Mistral AI's services and solutions into its semiconductor production, aiming to create tailored AI models for on-site use.

Founded in 2023 by former employees of Google's DeepMind and Meta, Mistral AI has developed advanced large language models, including Mistral Large. The partnership is expected to aid Samsung in addressing the growing intricacies of semiconductor production, with Samsung Vice Chairman and Head of Semiconductor Division Jun Young-hyun noting the importance of ongoing innovation in semiconductor technologies.

The company anticipates that leveraging Mistral AI's platform will expedite the development process, enhance manufacturing precision, and ensure consistent yields for sophisticated memory chips.
