Report: Former UFC middleweight champ to make commentary debut at DWCS

Chris Weidman, the former UFC middleweight champion, is reportedly making his commentary debut for Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10. The event is scheduled for Week 5, taking place on September 8th at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Weidman will join Laura Sanko and play-by-play announcer Dan Hellie in the three-person booth to commentate the five-fight card.

Since retiring from mixed martial arts, Weidman has been working as a desk analyst for UFC events. His profile has grown since joining Dustin Poirier, Jorge Masvidal, and Din Thomas on the popular podcast, Deep Waters. Weidman, 42, last competed in December 2024, where he suffered a second-round TKO loss to Eryk Anders.

Weidman's MMA career, which ended with a 16-8 record, included a notable victory where he ended Anderson Silva's 16-fight win streak in the UFC. This victory was particularly significant as the record had been previously unbroken.
