Pune Viral Video: Fortuner’s Number Plate ‘Disappears’ On Mumbai-Pune Expressway; SUV Has 55+ Pending Challans

A video of a Toyota Fortuner purportedly concealing its registration plate while driving on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway has gone viral, sparking debate about motorists utilizing devices to dodge traffic enforcement. The car, registered under MH14 LN 4888, is captured traversing what is likely the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. However, the precise location of the footage could not be verified independently.

In the video, the vehicle's registration plate is initially visible in clear view. Subsequently, a black device appears to glide across the plate, swiftly obscuring the number within seconds. The plate subsequently seems to vanish from sight altogether.

The video has ignited discussions on the potential use of such mechanisms to impede cameras or traffic officials from identifying a vehicle post-violation. The Fortuner reportedly carries over 55 outstanding traffic challans, totaling more than ₹1 lakh. These violations include speeding, dangerous driving, and issues related to the vehicle's registration plate.
