Prosecution closes case in GH¢49.1m Cybersecurity software trial

The prosecution has concluded its case in the GH¢49.1 million cyber security software theft trial against Kwabena Adu Boahene, his wife Angela Adjei Boateng, and their firm Advantage Solutions Limited. The State presented four witnesses before the fourth and final witness completed cross-examination. This marks the end of the State's effort to substantiate the 11 financial offences alleged against the accused.

The accused, former National Signals Bureau boss, his spouse, and the company are on trial for allegedly stealing government funds meant for cybersecurity software. The prosecution called four witnesses, including Frank Anane Dekpey, a driver who carried cash bags for the accused, and Ruby Adumoah Opoku, Head of Finance at the NSB, who testified about the transfer of the stolen funds.

The third witness spoke about a company set up by the accused to move funds, while the fourth detailed the nature of the account used to divert the money and discredited a letter claiming the purchase of the software. After the prosecution finishes, the accused's lawyers plan to submit a no case submission, with a two-week window to file their application.
