PH sedia hadapi pelbagai senario PRN Melaka termasuk tanding solo

Pakatan Harapan (PH) is gearing up to face multiple scenarios in the Melaka PRN, including the possibility of contesting alone. Amirudin Shari, the PH Election Office chairman, stated that the coalition will hold internal discussions to determine specific steps for dealing with the PRN Melaka. As of now, no formal talks on cooperation between PH and the Barisan Nasional (BN) have taken place to address the PRN issue.

Shari mentioned that PH is preparing for various situations, which could mean facing the same circumstances as in Johor or Negeri Sembilan, or something different entirely. In the PRN elections for Johor and Negeri Sembilan, PH contested as a solo party. Amirudin, who is also the PKR deputy president, added that PH will conduct internal discussions within one or two days to decide the specific steps to be taken in addressing the PRN Melaka.

He said that the distribution of seats among component parties is likely to be finalized until the candidate nomination stage, but PH is ready to take earlier steps if the situation requires it. On August 25, PH leader Anwar Ibrahim had announced that Amirudin had been given the mandate to explore the possibility of cooperation between the coalition and BN, including seat allocation for the Melaka PRN, which is set to occur.

Melaka has 28 seats in the Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN), and in the PRN Melaka-15, BN formed the state government after securing 21 seats, followed by PH with five seats, and the Perikatan Nasional with two seats. The Melaka state government mandate will expire on December 31.
