Palestine weekly: Israeli ministers push for depopulation of Gaza

Two prominent Israeli ministers are urging their government to impose sanctions on Britain in response to the UK's planned ban on trade with Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory. Finance Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Security Minister Bezalel Smotrich both made their demands following the UK government's announcement regarding the sanctions.

Ben Gvir, in a strongly-worded statement, threatened the expulsion of the British ambassador to Israel and vehemently denounced the current British government as "antiseptic" and "radical Islamic." He claimed that the government's actions are an attempt to "save itself from economic and social decline by attacking Jews and the State of Israel."

Smotrich echoed similar sentiments, stating that the British government has no right to occupy the Falkland Islands and is engaging in activities such as oil drilling in the region. He accused the British of stealing money from the Argentine people. The ministers' calls for sanctions echo the growing frustration within the Israeli government over the UK's stance on the Palestinian territories.
