New Taraba police commissioner assures residents of proactive policing

The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Taraba State, Edwin Ogbeghsgha, has pledged to prioritize proactive, intelligence-led, and community-oriented policing to bolster security throughout the state. Expressing these assurances on Monday, Ogbeghsgha officially assumed leadership of the Taraba State Police Command, following the retirement of his predecessor, Moorkwap Sebastian Dongshal.

Ogbeghsgha emphasized the command's intent to deepen cooperation with other security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and various stakeholders to prevent criminal activities and uphold peace within the state. He appealed to the Taraba state government and citizens to contribute by providing prompt and reliable information on any suspicious activities. This information, he assured, would be handled with the utmost confidentiality.

Furthermore, Ogbeghsgha cautioned criminals and their accomplices, stating that the police command remains steadfast in its commitment to combating criminal activities and ensuring that offenders are held accountable. He reiterated that the safety and security of the Taraba populace remains his utmost priority, urging residents to remain law-abiding and vigilant in their approach to security matters.
