Navi Mumbai: NMMC To Set Up Help Desk At Vashi Or Nerul Hospital For PM-JAY, MJPJAY Beneficiaries

Navi Mumbai's Municipal Corporation will establish a help desk at either the Vashi or Nerul municipal hospital to facilitate access to government health schemes, PM-JAY and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, according to Municipal Commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde. These two schemes are already accessible at five NMMC hospitals and 29 private hospitals within the civic jurisdiction.

The proposed help desk aims to resolve issues faced by citizens while accessing treatment and benefits under these schemes. Shinde emphasized the necessity of adhering to a standard operating procedure for providing quality healthcare services and expedited distribution of Ayushman cards instead of relying on the district administration.

Additionally, the NMMC should strengthen tuberculosis patient identification systems, enhance mosquito control measures due to increasing monsoon risks, and increase public awareness about preventive measures during Ganeshotsav. The Commissioner also directed officials to conduct thorough death audits, study the Integrated Health Facilities and Management Policy, and ensure hospital safety and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
