NADRA Makes CNIC Renewal Easier

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has streamlined the CNIC renewal procedure, enabling citizens to renew their identity cards from the comfort of their homes via the Pak ID smartphone application. This digital solution aims to diminish visits to NADRA offices and alleviate the burden of lengthy queues. NADRA asserts that the service will expedite and enhance the transparency of the registration process.

To renew a CNIC through Pak ID, users must first launch the app and opt for the "Identity Documents" feature from the main screen. Subsequently, they should tap the "ID Card" icon. The subsequent screen prompts users to select the appropriate applicant before choosing the "Renewal" option from the presented list. Applicants can then input the necessary details, upload the requisite documents, and conclude the remaining steps by adhering to the instructions provided within the app.

NADRA officials stated that this online facility has been implemented to conserve citizens' time and render the identity card renewal process more efficient and transparent.
