The company has reaffirmed its commitment to providing customers with a modern, accessible, and connected vehicle through this latest facelift. The updated Kwid is assembled at the São José dos Pinhais plant and serves as the basis for all South American markets.
Externally, the most noticeable changes include a new front bumper, gloss black restyled grille, redesigned LED daytime running lights, and new headlight graphics. The rear fascia also sees less drastic alterations, featuring Renault's latest corporate logo on the grille and a faux aluminium insert on the lower air intake for Outsider models. Other exterior enhancements include new 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and the option of a two-tone roof finish for some variants.
Inside, the Kwid's interior has been given a more dramatic makeover. All variants are now equipped with a new steering wheel, upgraded materials, a revised seven-inch digital instrument cluster, and a redesigned central hangdown section with new air vents. The mid-range Techno and flagship Outsider models also feature a new 10.1-inch infotainment display, which is standard in the Techno and Outsider. The entry-level Evolution variant, however, does not come with this feature.
In terms of dimensions, the South American Kwid remains the same as the existing CMF-A platform that also powers the Kiger, Triber, Nissan Magnite, and Gravite in extended CMF-A+ form. The dimensions of the Kwid are as follows: length of 3,720 mm, wheelbase of 2,423 mm, height of 1,481 mm, and width of 1,759 mm. When compared to its South African counterpart, the South American Kwid offers more boot space, ranging from 290 to 1,100 litres, compared to 279 and 620 litres for the South African model.
The engine remains unchanged as well, with the Kwid still equipped with a normally aspirated 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that can run on ethanol and petrol. The outputs remain the same, at 50kW/91Nm when running on petrol, increasing to 53kW/98Nm when fueled with ethanol. As with its counterpart, the South American Kwid is only available with a five-speed manual gearbox, without the option of the five-speed Easy-R automated manual (AMT).
