Man wanted over killings of wife and daughters in UK pleads guilty to gun offenses in South Africa

Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, a British citizen originally from Zimbabwe, appeared in a Johannesburg court on July 13, 2026, after being wanted by British authorities for the murders of his wife and two daughters. Tshuma was arrested in South Africa in July while on the run and pleaded guilty to firearms offenses, including illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, as part of a plea deal according to South African prosecutors.

Additionally, he pleaded guilty to immigration charges for entering South Africa while a fugitive. South African authorities plan to extradite Tshuma to the U.K. once his local court proceedings are completed. British prosecutors anticipate charging him with three counts of murder. Tshuma's wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their daughters, Natalie, aged 15, and Nala, aged 5, were discovered dead at their residence near London on July 6, all having sustained head injuries.

According to British police, Tshuma allegedly left the U.K. on July 4 and traveled to Zimbabwe before arriving in South Africa, where the bodies were found. Tshuma, who was identified as a British man of Zimbabwean descent, was apprehended by Interpol in Johannesburg on July 10 following the issuance of an arrest warrant. South African police suspect he intended to commit suicide with the firearm.
