Leaked tapes reveal Muslim Brotherhood plotting new Egyptian revolution and government-in-exile

Egyptian media host Amr Adib and writer Abdel-Rahim Ali aired audio recordings on Sunday's "al-Hekaya" (The Story) show on MBC Egypt. The tapes allegedly detail plans for a new revolution in Egypt and the establishment of a government in exile, according to RT. According to Ali, an expert in Islamist groups, these leaked recordings document meetings between Muslim Brotherhood leaders and opposition forces overseas.

These discussions centered around instigating political change in Egypt and preparing for a new "revolution," as well as agreeing on the form of the country's constitution and political system. Ali noted that the recordings total around 30 hours but cannot be broadcast in their entirety due to security concerns. He explained that the meetings introduced the concept of a "civil state" to minimize conflicts with state institutions and religious groups.

Ali emphasized that the conversations extended beyond political planning, delving into the formation of an international political entity and a government-in-exile to navigate the transitional period following a regime change in Egypt. Ali believes these recordings reflect a strategic effort to reorganize the Muslim Brotherhood and its allies abroad, preparing alternative political options for potential unrest or internal shifts in Egypt.
