Künstliche Intelligenz: Angela Merkel wünscht sich einen KI-Roboter für den Haushalt

Former Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) expressed a desire for a KI-powered robot to assist with household chores. She mentioned this dream during the Digital X event organized by Deutsche Telekom in Cologne. Merkel recalled how her mother once thought, "Why is there no one to squeeze the lemon for her, as her hands no longer work as well?"

However, such robots currently only exist in theory, and Merkel is anxious about the promise of the robot taking over kitchen tasks, as she would still need to do the rest of the work. Simple things like setting up a new TV would also be challenging for these robots. Merkel believes that KI applications are generally positive, especially for healthcare.

Education of younger generations and assistance for older individuals, like setting up a TV, could benefit from KI. Merkel warned about the need for global agreements on KI, similar to the International Atomic Energy Agency and the World Health Organization for nuclear energy and health, respectively. Lack of transparency from tech companies could lead to dependency on large providers.

Merkel concluded that humanity must learn to live with KI, which will improve our lives. She admitted using KI to gather information for writing speeches, but assured that the speech itself was her own work.
