Josh Hokit goes off on Alex Pereira asking for Ciryl Gane rematch: ‘I watched you get demolished’

Heavyweight contender Josh Hokit lashed out at Alex Pereira on social media after the controversial fighter called for a rematch against Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title. Hokit criticized the idea of Pereira, who suffered defeats from Gane and Justin Gaethje in June, challenging for belts next. The 10-0 fighter argued that Pereira and Ilia Topuria did not deserve title shots and should have to earn them by winning fights.

Hokit suggested that Tom Aspinall's manager Eddie Hearn is stalling to buy time in contract negotiations and proposed that Hokit should face Gane in the upcoming Madison Square Garden event, with Pereira facing Sergei Pavlovich on the same card. Hokit stated that he would gladly face Pereira in a rematch, but a UFC title shot would be more lucrative for him.
