Jacob Sexton injury update: Oklahoma State football OL out for season with leg injury

Oklahoma State left tackle Jacob Sexton has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a lower right leg injury, according to coach Eric Morris. The Cowboys' depth chart for their upcoming game against No. 2 Oregon features junior Desmond Magiya or sophomore Shaun Torgeson as the left tackle. Magiya initially replaced Sexton in the lineup after Oregon's first offensive play of the game, with Torgeson and senior Ashton Lepo also alternating duties.

Sexton, a senior, suffered the injury during the team's first offensive series of the season, a move that marked his second season-ending injury following a similar setback in his freshman year. Coach Morris expressed his sympathy for Sexton, acknowledging his hard work this offseason to recover and stating that he has been the team's top offensive lineman since joining the program.

Morris also admitted that the team didn't have a strong edge player in the absence of Sexton, who was frequently targeted around the defensive line. After reviewing the Tulsa game footage, Morris plans to evaluate the performance of Magiya and Torgeson in those positions.
