Houthis accuse Saudi of Yemen prison strike that killed 7, including child

At least 73 individuals sustained injuries following assaults by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis on Saudi Arabia, according to the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen. The coalition vowed to respond firmly to the recent surge in hostilities.

The Houthis, who govern the most populous regions of Yemen and significant parts of the north, have been targeting Saudi Arabia since they imposed a naval blockade on Riyadh in July. Their attacks have been directed at the kingdom's vessels in the Red Sea.

Colonel Turki al-Malki, the spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, expressed concern over the latest escalation. He stated that the Houthis targeted both civilian and economic entities in Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter and de-facto leader of OPEC, in a statement on X/Twitter.

The coalition announced that they would employ all necessary operational measures to deter this terrorist militia and confront their hostile approach resolutely. The Houthis launched attacks on facilities in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, as reported by the coalition.
