HD Hyundai, Philippines to deepen cooperation on naval modernization

HD Hyundai is aiming to strengthen its collaboration with the Philippine government in modernizing the Philippine Navy and boosting the country's shipbuilding and defense sectors. The company's Chairman, Chung Ki-sun, met with Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. in Seoul to discuss increasing cooperation in shipbuilding and defense. HD Hyundai sees an opportunity to expand its role in the Philippines' naval modernization and shipbuilding industry.

Chung and Teodoro met on Monday to evaluate the advancements made over their ten-year defense partnership and explore avenues for further cooperation. Chung attributed their success to the Philippine government's consistent policies and their solid partnership. "With consistent policies and cooperation of the Philippine government and Navy, we were able to make a significant contribution to strengthening the capabilities of the Philippine Navy while also ensuring the stable operation of HD Hyundai's business," Chung stated.

Building upon their decade-long experience of business success and growth based on mutual trust, HD Hyundai plans to pursue opportunities for long-term industrial cooperation in a wider array of areas beyond their current defense collaboration.
