Frosinone’s Antonio Raimondo: Explosive start could herald talent’s breakthrough Serie A season

Antonio Raimondo, a 22-year-old striker from Frosinone, has delivered an explosive start that could potentially mark the onset of a breakthrough Serie A season. His heroics were instrumental in Frosinone's narrow 3-2 victory over Venezia, marking his second brace in two league games. Prior to this, he had scored two goals against Fiorentina and was on the sidelines for Frosinone's Coppa Italia clash against Sassuolo.

Raimondo, an Italy U21 international, has now amassed five goals and an assist in four appearances across all competitions this season. If the current trajectory continues, he may solidify his position in Italian football. This season, Raimondo has returned on loan to Frosinone after contributing significantly to their relegation last term. His best Serie B season earlier was in 2023/24 when he scored nine goals for Ternana.

The Bologna academy product, who made his senior debut for the Rossoblù at the end of the 2021/22 season, had been undergoing loan spells in Serie B. However, Raimondo's second season at Frosinone is anticipated to be a coming-of-age year. His contract with Frosinone is set to run until June 2028, and he earns an annual salary of €740,000.
