Forus Raises $3 Million to Bring Agentic AI to Medical Prescriptions

Healthcare technology company Forus has secured $150 million in new funding, according to a press release on September 8. The Series C round valued the startup at $3 billion and will enable Forus to expand its services to new medical offices across the country. The company provides an artificial intelligence platform aimed at managing the healthcare supply chain and simplifying patients' access to prescribed clinical treatments.

According to Forus' data, over a third of patients prescribed complex or high-cost medications fail to receive their first dose because of administrative obstacles. Forus addresses this issue by assigning a personalized AI agent to every prescription, covering all drugs, payers, and pharmacies nationwide, at no cost to doctors and patients.

The AI agents function similarly to case managers, considering each patient's unique medical history, insurance coverage, and financial situation to navigate the supply chain effectively. Forus serves patients in all 50 states and covers 85% of U.S. ZIP codes. The funding comes as healthcare providers increasingly deploy AI in areas with high staff strain, patient demand, and operational complexity.
