FG hails Bauchi’s performance on ACReSAL

The Federal Government has hailed the performance of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes project (ACReSAL) in Bauchi, ranking it among the best-performing states in the northern region. This acknowledgement has led the World Bank to provide additional funding to expand the project's activities across 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

National Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, Abdulhameed Umar, announced this during the Hybrid Additional Financing Pre-Appraisal Mission meeting in Bauchi. Speaking on behalf of the Federal Ministers of Environment, Agriculture and Food Security, and Water Resources and Sanitation, Umar expressed gratitude to Bauchi for its strong performance, stating that the project is being implemented and delivering results in the state.

The Federal Government has marked ACReSAL as a performing project, a decision that triggered the pre-appraisal process for further financing. Deputy Governor of Bauchi, who spoke on the occasion, praised the Governor for his leadership and understanding of donor-funded programmes, emphasizing the crucial role of all 19 states, the FCT, and project coordinators in achieving the desired outcomes.
