Doctor killed in helicopter crash returned to Sarawak just two days ago - Father

KOTA BARU: Dr Ainul Baraah, a doctor who tragically died in a helicopter crash near Long Lellang, Sarawak, had only recently returned to the state after a week-long holiday with her family in Kelantan. Kamaruddin Salleh, 69, the father of the deceased, shared the heart-wrenching news with reporters upon being contacted. Ainul, the fourth of five siblings, had been working as a doctor at a hospital in Miri for approximately two years.

Her family expressed their shock and grief upon learning of her untimely demise. Her husband, Rogayah Mohd Noor, 69, revealed that they had yet to travel to Sarawak due to her existing health issues. Kamaruddin's other children and his in-laws family planned to fly to Kuala Lumpur before continuing their journey to Sarawak the following morning.

Ainul's family described her as a quiet and kind-hearted daughter who often helped out around the house. She had returned to her hometown to spend time with her family before her tragic passing. Earlier, a Bo-105 helicopter carrying five individuals, including the pilot, crashed near the Long Lellang STOL port in Sarawak. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed the incident in a statement, receiving notification from the Aeronautical Information Service at 3.58pm local time.
