Chinese woman alleges 30 million baht house theft in Samut Prakan

A Chinese businesswoman, Chen Jia, has accused strangers of forcibly entering her rented house in Samut Prakan while she was in China. Valuables worth over 30 million baht were stolen from the property. Chen informed Channel 7 of the incident, hoping that media coverage would aid her in recovering her lost belongings. The maid who looked after the house discovered the lock on the front door had been broken and that the security camera had been tampered with.

The maid later provided Chen with a video showing the damage to the house. The maid also encountered a group claiming to be the new owners of the property, who demanded Chen vacate the premises within an hour. Chen signed a rental contract on December 1, 2024, committing to pay 3 million baht per year, and insisted the agreement had not been breached.

After reviewing the security footage, Chen identified a man and a woman entering the house on the day of the theft. Upon returning to Thailand, Chen verified that belongings exceeding 30 million baht were missing, including 600,000 baht in cash and other valuables. According to Channel 7, the property's leasing company had two shareholders.

One shareholder allegedly sold the property to another company for 18 million baht, but the purchaser did not complete the transaction, leading to the house's transfer to another entity. Chen has filed a complaint at Bang Phli Police Station, requesting the seizure or freezing of the property until a court ruling is issued and prosecution of the perpetrators for trespassing. The individual claiming to be the new owner of the property has not issued a public statement.
