Ben-Gvir urges sanctions against U.K. over 'occupation' of Falklands after report of British ban on trade with settlements

Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to publicly recognize Argentina's claim to the Falkland Islands and impose sanctions on the United Kingdom, following reports that Britain plans to ban trade with Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Ben-Gvir believes Britain's actions go beyond mere occupation, as they also engage in oil drilling and steal money from the Argentine people.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also criticized the reported British decision, demanding the government expel the U.K.'s ambassador to Israel, asserting that the British Mandate in the Land of Israel is over. Meanwhile, fighting in Yemen's northwestern al-Jawf province continues, with Houthi forces alleging Saudi airstrikes killed or injured 14 people, including 35 prisoners inside a prison. The Houthis warned of retaliation for what they termed Saudi aggression.
