Trump says he won’t allow Bombardier to sell products in the U.S.

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to ban the sale of Bombardier products in the United States, deeming their offerings "not good enough." Trump claimed that over 50% of Bombardier's revenue stems from American buyers, companies, airports, and services, while Canada simultaneously hinders American businesses, banks, and industries within its borders.

He emphasized that the era of allowing Canada to exploit American markets is coming to an end, stating that if Bombardier seeks access to the U.S. market, they must establish manufacturing operations domestically and cease treating America as a "piggybank."

Quebec Premier Christine Frechette dismissed Trump's comments in response, vowing not to reciprocate with similar provocation. She emphasized that Bombardier represents Quebec's pride, a cornerstone of the province's economy, and a significant contributor to the aerospace industry. In her social media post, Frechette reached out to Bombardier's CEO, Eric Martel, offering her support.

She assured that Quebec would not permit any entity to dictate where its companies must produce to access a market. Frechette pledged to defend Quebec's companies, workers, and expertise with determination. Bombardier operates multiple facilities in Canada and various U.S. states, including Florida, Texas, New Jersey, and Michigan.
