Three booked for allegedly assaulting, kidnapping woman in Kasaragod

Three individuals, including two brothers, have been arrested in Kasaragod for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping a 23-year-old woman, according to police reports. The incident is said to have taken place around 10:30 p.m. on September 4 at a juice shop in Nayanmar Moola, Chengla village.

The alleged attacker, identified as Sabid, allegedly struck the woman with a glass to the head. Another accused, Thahir, reportedly assaulted her as well. The two men, along with an unidentified third person, then forcibly took the woman into their car and transported her away.

The police claim that the motive for the attack was due to a prior animosity between the woman and the accused. It is reported that the woman had previously filed a POCSO case against Sabid and refused to drop the charges, which allegedly prompted the assault.

The three accused have been booked under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 126(2), 127(2), 115(2), 118(1), 137(2), and 3(5). The police have registered a case against all three individuals for the alleged assault and kidnapping.
