RM500,000 allocation for SJKC Boon Beng expansion

NIBONG TEBAL: SJKC Boon Beng has been awarded RM500,000 by the prime minister's special allocation to aid in the expansion of an additional block at the school. Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek announced the funding, following a visit with the prime minister's political secretary Chan Ming Kai. While the allocation is not enough to cover the entire RM8.6 million project, it will help the school and community continue their efforts.

The new block will include 12 classrooms and other facilities. Fadhlina emphasized the government's approach to education, which focuses on addressing schools' actual needs, such as repairs, space shortages, and inadequate facilities. She stressed that the school remains a Malaysian institution, regardless of what is written on its gate.

The minister thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his ongoing support to education. Last year, the school celebrated its 100th anniversary, marking a century of contributions to national education and the local community. Fadhlina highlighted that the Nibong Tebal-based school caters to parents from diverse ethnic backgrounds, reflecting its significant role in Malaysia's education landscape.
