Qatar, North Macedonia sign agreement to strengthen cooperation in labour sector

Qatar and North Macedonia have signed a pact to bolster collaboration in the labor sector, with a focus on sharing knowledge to enhance labor markets and working conditions in both nations. The agreement was signed by Qatar's Labor Minister HE Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri and North Macedonia's Economy and Labor Minister HE Besar Durmishi.

The agreement aims to deepen cooperation across various labor-related domains, supporting the development of labor legislation and enhancing labor market regulation. It also seeks to improve working environments and boost productivity in the private sector.

To achieve these goals, the two nations will collaborate on joint initiatives, such as exchanging expertise, conducting studies, and arranging visits in areas like labor relations, labor inspection, and occupational safety and health. Preventive measures will be implemented to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.

Cooperation will also involve exchanging views and knowledge on drafting labor-related legislation. The two sides may later negotiate to expand cooperation into other relevant areas within their respective competencies.

A joint committee, with an equal representation from both sides, will be established to oversee the implementation of the agreement. This committee will coordinate and implement cooperation areas, plan and evaluate future cooperation programs, interpret the agreement's provisions, and address any challenges that may arise during its execution.

Additionally, the sides will create specific cooperation programs to carry out agreed activities and initiatives, further strengthening the exchange of expertise and bilateral collaboration in the labor sector.
