Nigerian Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has responded to Datti Baba-Ahmed's assertion that he cannot improve Nigeria if elected president. Baba-Ahmed had claimed that none of the leading candidates for the 2027 presidential election, including Obi, could fix the nation. On Arise News, Obi cited his record as governor of Anambra State to demonstrate his ability to enhance the country if given the chance.

"As a governor, I was able to improve Anambra State in crucial areas of development, and I can do the same in Nigeria," he stated. Obi expressed his commitment to bringing civility in governance, reducing the cost of governance, and combating corruption and waste. He also promised to address issues of law and order and ensure that elections are free and fair, rather than being rigged.

Obi emphasized his intention to unite the country, secure it, and prioritize critical areas of development such as health, education, and poverty alleviation.
