PTI's Gohar says any 'hasty decision' on new provinces would weaken federation

PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan cautioned against hastily creating new provinces, warning it would weaken the federation. In an interview with reporters in Islamabad, Gohar emphasized that any decision should be made after forming a consensus, similar to the 18th Amendment in 2010. He urged setting up a commission to deliberate on the matter, stating that making hasty decisions without people's consent would create further complications.

Meanwhile, Senate Opposition Leader Raja Nasir Abbas questioned the lack of parliamentary discussion on the matter, pointing out that no decision or debate had taken place in the federal cabinet, National Assembly, or Senate. He suggested the government should gather all parties and form a collective stance against this dangerous move, emphasizing the need for constitutional supremacy and Pakistan's stability.
