Pekat unit bags RM57.18mil data centre jobs

KUALA LUMPUR: Pekat Group Bhd's subsidiary, Pekat E & LP Sdn Bhd, has secured three subcontracts valued at RM57.18 million for earthing and lightning protection works in a Johor data centre. The contracts were awarded by a local private company specializing in engineering, construction services, and investment. The first contract, worth RM27.21 million, covers supplying, delivering, installing, and commissioning earthing and lightning protection systems, with completion targeted for September 2027.

The second contract, valued at RM4.64 million, involves supplying and installing earthing and lightning protection systems for a substation. Both contracts are expected to be completed by February 2027. The third contract, worth RM25.33 million, covers the design, supply, installation, and testing of earthing and lightning protection systems, along with associated civil works.

This latest win bolsters Pekat's position in the earthing and lightning protection sector, as stated by the company's CEO, Tai Yee Chee. These three contracts, totaling RM57.18 million, bolster Pekat's project pipeline and demonstrate their capabilities in delivering specialized earthing and lightning protection solutions. Pekat's share price increased by two sen or 1.06% to RM1.91, valuing the company at RM1.35 billion.
