PAS Perlis sedia ‘berubat sendiri’ selepas teguran Sanusi

PAS Perlis has been preparing to act independently and plan political action after being under the watchful eye of the Temporary Management Authority (JTS), according to its core leader. (Illustration by Bernama) In PETALING JAYA, PAS Perlis expressed readiness to resolve internal conflicts within the party after PAS election supervisor Sanusi Nor openly rebuked them to stop their off-track behavior and to deal with the party's affairs independently.

PAS Arau leader Solahudin Azmi said the criticism was seen as an opportunity for the state leadership to handle party affairs autonomously. He said the time has come for PAS Perlis to act independently and plan political action based on the strength and agreement of local leadership. "After being under the supervision of the Temporary Management Authority (JTS) chaired by PAS Deputy President Idris Ahmad for more than six months, we are confident that the entire leadership of the state is now ready and mature enough to manage party affairs," he said in a statement.

Solahudin said PAS Perlis also has the advantage of having Ahmad Ali, a PAS state envoy who has been a party member for more than six decades. PAS Kangar leader Yussaine Yahya also expressed readiness to act independently, saying unity among the core members has long been established. He said the majority of the leadership council, JHS members, and PAS Perlis members are now focusing on PRU16 action.

"Only a few are deliberately playing with issues," he said. Meanwhile, PAS Perlis Muslim Council President Husna Hashim said the state leadership is always accurate and respects every leadership decision. She said PAS Perlis, among others, accepted the decision to reject the offer of media-related duties to the Perlis Chief Minister.

She also said the state leadership accepted the nomination of three representatives for the State Legislative Assembly, namely Chuping, Bintong, and Guar Sanji. At the PAS National Annual Meeting 72 in Kota Bharu on Saturday, Sanusi harshly warned PAS Perlis to stop internal quarreling. He said the warning had already been given last year, but the issue continued to persist until the central leadership found it difficult to find a solution.
