Kremlin comments on Witkoff and Kushner’s talks in Kyiv and Moscow

In a recent post on social media platform X, Witkoff, the Special Envoy of President Trump, stated that significant progress has been achieved in the trilateral talks aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Accompanied by images from his visit to Kyiv, Witkoff emphasized that U.S. negotiators had met with both Russian and Ukrainian counterparts in Moscow and Kyiv to facilitate further dialogue towards resolving the conflict.

Prior to the trip, the Russian and Ukrainian sides had agreed to a three-day ceasefire, providing a critical window for negotiations to take place. Witkoff, along with Jared Kushner, and officials from the National Security Council, State Department, and Treasury Department engaged in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. They explored each side's proposals and explored avenues for progress.

The delegations in Kyiv were further strengthened by the presence of national security advisers from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, all working together to chart a path forward. Witkoff highlighted the positive outcome of these talks, stating that "substantial progress was made, including movement on scheduling additional trilateral talks." President Trump, according to Witkoff, is tirelessly working to cease the bloodshed and pave the way for a durable and lasting peace.
